Pakistani Films screening at SAARC Film Festival

Two Pakistani films have been accepted for screening at the SAARC Film Festival starting from May 11 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

‘Mohabbatan Sachiyan’ and ‘Shackles Yet to Open’are the two films selected to represent Pakistan at the festival. Shahzad Rafique, who has directed both the films, had the English subtitling done from India. The top three films will be awarded at the end of the event.

The Saarc Film Festival will aim to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and shared points of view from film directors from the region. Also, it will focus on promoting some of the best film released in 2010 from all the member states.

Musician Jimmy Khan Introduces his debut single/video ‘Pehla Pyar’

A Lahore based artist, Jimmy has been an amateur performer since the tender age of 14 and has been a definitive part of the Lahore underground music scene 2005. Over time, he has opened concerts for Pakistani music giants such as Atif Aslam, Noori and EP and was also one of the vocalists for the aptly titled ‘Cover Band’ which on numerous occasions has been known to feature music maestros like Gumby and Mekaal Hasan. He is also a resident performer at Lahore’s popular restaurant Gunsmoke.

A keen musician whose instrument of choice is an acoustic guitar, Jimmy spent over 5 years refining his talent which led him to record, and shoot a video for, his debut single ‘Pehla Pyar’.
